THE INTERNAL SYSTEM OF EDUCATION QUALITY ASSURANCE

IN PULTUSK ACADEMY OF HUMANITIES

 

Chapter One. General Provisions

§ 1.

  1. Pultusk Academy of Humanities has its Internal System of Education Quality Assurance, hereinafter referred to as the System.  
  2. The System covers all the stages and aspects of the school (teaching) process, and allows for all the forms of verification of the learning outcomes of the degree courses in the fields of study offered under the AH curriculum and of its postgraduate degree and non-degree courses which the students and the participants in postgraduate programs are expected to achieve in terms of their knowledge, skills and social competences, and also for student assessment, and for conclusions drawn from tracking and analysing AH alumni career paths.

§ 2.

  1. The System is aimed at:
    1) planning, organizing and  implementing the school process; and
    2) monitoring and analysing the quality of education; and
    3) encouraging faculty members to upgrade their qualifications related to their teaching and/or research roles at AH; and
    4) collecting and disseminating information on the quality of education, and on the alumni’s qualifications.

§ 3.

  1. The System covers:
    1) policies and procedures for quality assurance in education at AH ; and
    2) periodic reviews and approval of the curriculum/syllabus content of each course, and of its expected learning outcomes; and                                             
    3) surveys done to investigate the school process; and

    4) quality assurance of the teaching done at AH; and
    5) monitoring  the teaching resources and the AH student assistance fund operations; and
    6) using the MIS information system; and
    7) publication of newsletters.

Chapter 2. Organizational Structure

§ 4.

  1. The AH Quality Education Commission made up of:
    1) Chairperson – Deputy Rector for Student Affairs; and
    2) AH Coordinator for the National Qualifications Framework; and
    3) Representative of each of the AH Faculty-based Quality Education Commissions; and
    4) Representative of the Quality Education Commission of the Foreign Languages Teaching Centre; and
    5) Student Representative – member of the Student Government; and
    6) Secretary – Assistant to the Deputy Rector for Student Affairs.
  2. Faculty-based Quality Education Commissions made up of:
    1) Dean;
    2) Faculty-based Coordinator for the National Qualifications Framework; and
    3) two university teachers out of the faculty members counted towards the required minimum number of holders of doctoral and higher doctoral degrees and professorial titles at the Faculty, including one associate professor or professor; and
    4) two students.
  3. Quality Education Commission of the Foreign Languages Teaching Centre made up of:
    1) Director of the Foreign Languages Teaching Centre; and
    2) two language teachers.


Chapter 3. Responsibilities and Competencies

§ 5.

  1. The responsibilities and competencies of the AH Quality Education Commission include:
    1) development of internal procedures related to the implementation and operations of the System; and
    2) development of draft questionnaires and of the surveying procedures related to the school process; and
    3) development of quality education related procedures and inspecting their implementation; and
    4) analysis of the education quality evaluation results; and
    5) collecting information on national and international quality requirements in education, and making it available.
  2. Responsibilities and competencies of the Faculty-based Quality Education Commissions:
    1) periodic reviews of the AH curriculum and of the syllabi for all the courses taught, and of the related learning outcomes; and
    2) quality assurance of the teaching done at the Faculty; and
    3) surveys investigating the school process; and
    4) periodic meetings of the Faculty governing bodies with its students;
    5) forms of assistance provided for low-performing and/or outstanding students by university teachers; and
    6) analysis of the education quality evaluation results at the Faculty; and
    7) use of the MIS information system;
    8) publication of newsletters re the quality of education.
  3. Responsibilities and competencies of the Quality Education Commission of the Foreign Languages Teaching Centre:
    1) quality assurance of the teaching done by AH language teachers;
    2) surveys investigating the process of foreign language teaching; and
    3) implementation of the procedures developed; and
    4) forms of assistance provided for low-performing and/or outstanding students by language teachers; and
    5) analysis of the education quality evaluation results in the context of foreign language teaching.


Chapter 4. Final Provisions

§ 6.

  1. The Internal System of Education Quality Assurance shall come into force on the date when the Senate’s resolution is taken.
  2. No. 28 A/2007 Rector’s Notice of 1st June, 2007, on the education quality improvement system shall cease to be in force.
